Support for life after treatment

Aftercare is for people who require additional support after returning to Hong Kong from rehab, or for clients who may need additional support after completing the 28-day Addiction Recovery Programme. It is a person-centred programme that helps clients readjust to life after treatment.

After sitting down with the client and assessing their recovery capital and health and wellness goals, we formulate a recovery plan that primarily addresses three key areas: mental, physical, and emotional.

What aftercare focuses on

Two of the main goals of aftercare are to provide support and structured accountability for the client. Relapse prevention and ongoing attendance at support groups are also vital components of successful reintegration into daily life.

How aftercare works

Aftercare can last anywhere between three and twelve months. Sessions are flexible — we go to people's homes and offices, and the programme can include a range of off-site activities. Individual therapy sessions can be weekly or biweekly; it really depends on the client's specific needs.

Evidence shows that clients who participate in aftercare are more likely to stay sober.
